Terms of Service

The service

Esoteric Library is a digital reading service. A free membership allows browsing and the free shelf; a paid membership ("premium") unlocks the full catalog for the period you subscribe to. These terms apply to every visitor and member.

In plain words: you can browse the catalog and read the free shelf forever without paying anything, and a premium membership opens the whole library until the period you paid for runs out. What each plan costs and how long it runs is always shown before you check out.

Your account

Keep your credentials safe — activity under your account is your responsibility. Accounts are personal; sharing one account between readers is not permitted and may end in suspension.

Your account is what keeps your library, favorites and reading position following you between devices, which is why it needs to stay yours alone.

Payments and renewals

Paid plans are billed in advance through Paystack in the currency shown at checkout. A plan grants access from activation to the end of its period; we do not prorate partial periods. Where a renewal fails, access ends when the paid period runs out.

Payment itself happens on Paystack's checkout; the library sees only the reference of a completed transaction, never your card details.

Acceptable use

The texts are licensed to you for personal reading. You may not redistribute, resell, scrape or systematically copy the catalog or its content. Do not interfere with the service or other readers.

Spelled out: the books and essays are for you to read — not for re-uploading elsewhere, reselling, bulk automated downloading, or copying into another service.

Content and availability

We curate and publish historical and interpretive works. The views inside the books are their authors'; publication is not an endorsement. We aim for continuous availability but the service is provided "as is", without warranties to the extent the law allows.

That last clause, in plain words: we keep the library running and fix what breaks, but the law limits the promises a service like this can make, and this page does not promise more than it says.

Cancellation and termination

You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. Questions and termination requests: support@esotericlibrary.app.

Stopping means simply not renewing: when a paid period ends and no renewal follows, premium access ends with it, and your free shelf remains.
