What this policy covers

This policy explains what the library stores about you, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It applies to the website, the reader and the apps; the short version is below in each section, with the detail under it.

What we collect

To run the library we store the details you give us at registration (name, email, country and, optionally, phone number), the service data your use of the library produces (favorites, reading history, support chats and tickets), and payment references created at checkout. Payments themselves are processed by Paystack — we never see or store your card details.

In plain terms, that is three kinds of data:

• Account details — what you type at registration: name, email, country, and a phone number only if you choose to add one.
• Service data — what using the library produces: which books you save and favorite, where you stop reading, and whatever you write to support.
• Payment references — the record that a checkout happened. Card numbers and card data stay with Paystack, our payment processor; they never reach us.

How we use it

Your data is used to operate your membership: authenticating you, syncing your library across devices, honouring your premium access, sending transactional email (verification, receipts, support replies) and answering your support requests. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not run advertising in the library.

Each purpose, spelled out:

• Authenticating you — checking your sign-in and keeping your session secure.
• Syncing your library — so saved books, favorites and reading position follow you between browser, tablet and app.
• Honouring your membership — knowing which shelf you have paid to open, and opening it.
• Transactional email — the messages the service cannot work without: address verification, payment receipts, replies from support.
• Support — keeping the conversation when you write to us, so you don't restart from zero.

What we never do

Some commitments are easier to read as a list. The library does not sell your personal data; it does not run advertising in the library; and it does not see or store your card details — those stay with Paystack.

What we share

Only the processors the service needs: our email delivery provider, our payment processor (Paystack), and fraud-prevention checks at checkout (IP reputation). We may disclose data where the law requires it.

Those processors receive only what their job requires — an address to deliver an email to, a charge to confirm — and nothing beyond it.

Retention and your rights

Account data is kept while your account is active. You can request a copy or the deletion of your data at any time via support@esotericlibrary.app — deletion removes your profile, library and support history from the live service.

You do not need a reason for either request. A copy arrives by email; deletion is carried out on the live service, and we confirm when it is done.
