The Watchers and Their Ways

The Watchers, the angels who descended in the days of Jared and taught forbidden arts, are the subject of this 2017 volume in Baal Kadmon's catalog. The book traces the tradition text by text: the taking of Enoch, a brief history of the Book of Enoch, the Watcher tradition in Enoch and in the Book of Parables, Mesopotamian myth and the Watchers, the Book of Jubilees, the Jewish tradition, Justin Martyr's Second Apology, and the New Testament's echo of the fall. The second half names the Watchers to be called and their ways, with a chapter on sacrifices and then individual workings: Samyaza to cast a spell, Arakiel for earth magick, Ramiel for psychic visions, Kochaviel for divination, Tamiel for the cursing of enemies, Danell for legal pursuits, Ezekiel for major life changes, Barakiel for cosmic wisdom, Azazel to conquer enemies, Armaros to remove a curse or hex, Ananel to attract a person, Zakiel for binding, Shamsiel for self-empowerment, Satarel for occult wisdom, Turel for financial prosperity, and Sariel for banishing spirits.
