The Emerald Tablets of Thoth the Atlantean

Ancient Knowledge by Doreal Free

Doreal, founder of the Brotherhood of the White Temple, published these tablets in 1939 as his translation of writings he attributed to Thoth, the Atlantean priest-king said to have founded the Egyptian colony after the sinking of the mother land and raised the Great Pyramid over the hidden Halls of Amenti. The preface gives the legend: Thoth as an immortal who ruled for thousands of years, guarded his records beneath the pyramid, and returned in later ages as Hermes Thrice-Born. The tablets themselves are verse, each headed by its key. Tablet I tells the history of Thoth; Tablet II opens the Halls of Amenti; the keys that follow take up wisdom, magic, mystery, freedom of space, time, the law of above and below, cause and effect, and the keys of life and death, with the Lords of the cycles speaking in measured, incantatory lines. Two supplementary tablets on Atlantis and the secret of secrets close the book. Whatever one judges of its provenance, the text became one of the most reprinted channelings of the American occult century, and this is the edition readers have passed along for generations.
