The Angels of Alchemy

Damon Brand presents forty-two angels of transformation, each with a single power, worked through two methods the book teaches in full. The premise is alchemy as a process of personal change: rather than attacking a problem directly, the magician works on the inner substance that produces it, and the angels refine that substance. The first method is tasking, charging an angel to complete a change in accordance with its office, from Orpaniel of light and Boel of truth through patience, passion, surrender, purification and the rest, to Tavriel of completion; each angel gets a short chapter with the call and its purpose, from endurance and sanctuary to imagination, fascination and sustenance. The second method is evocation proper, calling the angel into presence to receive guidance directly, taught through the experience of evocation, the affinity process that tunes the contact, and the evocation keys. A pronunciation guide covers every name. In the gallery's plain style, with no equipment or belief required, the book is both a working grimoire of the forty-two and a course in the gentler half of the alchemical art.
