Samael, the accuser and venom of God, is among the most layered figures in the Hebrew tradition, and Baal Kadmon's 2022 study gives him the fullest treatment in the author's demonological line. The chapters work through the meaning of the name, who or what Satan is by comparison, the physical appearance of Samael in the sources, and his relationships to Azazel and Belial, before asking whether Samael is a Watcher and telling the tale of two falls. Further chapters take up Samael as God's servant or enemy or both, the sower of doubt, his roles in the Exodus and Job narratives, the seizing of Moses's soul, and his bond with Lilith. Gnostic texts supply two chapters, the Secret Book of John and the Reality of the Rulers, and Islam and the grimoire tradition follow. Meditations close the book: the unification of Samael and Lilith, Samael the protector, and the Klippotic sacrament, with bonus chapters on the Torah codes.
