Book
Melchizedek, the priest-king who blesses Abraham in Genesis, appears from nowhere and vanishes after three verses, yet became the seed of an entire mystical order. Baal Kadmon's Melchizedek: Unmasked follows the figure through every layer of tradition that claimed him: the Old Testament account, the argument that he was a Canaanite king, the Dead Sea Scrolls where he appears as an end-times deliverer, the Apocrypha, the New Testament's ordering of Christ after his priesthood, the Gnostic texts, the Rabbinic writings, early church writers, and the histories of Josephus and Philo. The book closes with two guided meditations, one on merging Melchizedek and God Most High in mind and soul, and a Melchizedek tarot meditation. Kadmon is candid in his introduction that Melchizedek is the most mysterious and most misunderstood figure in the Bible, and the book is organized so the reader can weigh each tradition's claim. This is a standalone title, not part of any of his series.
