Is magick compatible with the Bible? Baal Kadmon's short study takes the question seriously from both sides. The book walks through what the Old and New Testaments actually say on the subject, then asks why the Bible condemns magick and, more precisely, what kinds of magick it condemns, with the author's own take closing the book. Kadmon distinguishes the practices the texts prohibit from the divine magick performed by prophets, Jesus, and the apostles, an argument that opens the door to the practice his Bible Magick series builds on. The volume is a study title rather than a ritual book: no rites are given, and the reader is left with a documented map of the biblical material and a reasoned position on it. It was first published in 2015 and stands at the head of the Bible Magick sequence that continues in Jesus Magick. Readers who want the theology settled before working rituals will want to start here.
