Most of Baal Kadmon's books teach magick as technique; The Magickal Moment of Now: The Inner Mind of the Advanced Magician teaches the mind that wields it. Written in 2016 as a deliberate departure, the book is a series of essays on the magician's interior life: the author's own magickal start, harmony versus balance, the master-slave fallacy, magickal comfort-seeking, why magick works, spiritual narcissism, and the road less traveled. Kadmon's premise is that practitioners chase empowerment without noticing the mindset that empowerment is for, and that the advanced magician's real work happens in the present moment the title names. There are no rituals in the book. Readers who have collected his practical volumes and found results inconsistent will find here the author's own account of the inner disciplines that make the outer work coherent, and readers of his consciousness titles will recognize the territory from the practitioner's side. First published in 2016, it is the author s shortest book and his only one without a single ritual or mantra in it.
